Today I am going to show you all how I like to style old, “grandma” sweaters that I buy from Goodwill!
I am obsessed with these sweaters. I want to know their history! Who wore them before me? When were they made? Were they ever actually in style!?
Well, I am on a mission to bring them back! I love these sweaters so much, they are actually super cute!!!
I honestly was not a huge fan of this sweater when I first got it. It had a very high neck, almost like a turtle neck, and that didn’t look right with this type of sweater. But the really nice thing about it being super cheap was that I wasn’t afraid to experiment with it!
Since I didn’t like the neck, I decided to cut it off. I figured, the sweater was only $3 so if I mess up or don’t like how it turns out, it won’t be a big deal. I cut the neck right below the seam. I love the rough, worn out look it has now. I can wear it off the shoulder and it’s so cute! The sleeves are billowy which I love! I like to tuck it in because this is a poofy sweater and tucking it in accentuates my narrow waist.
This is one of my favorite sweaters!!! I love cardinals!! I usually just wear this one unbuttoned (because it is missing a button) with a tank-top and high-waisted jeans. I do have a trick for buttoning it though. I leave to top button undone and I start buttoning at the third to highest button-hole. One side looks higher than the other but it is extremely hard to tell, especially if I am wearing a black tank under the sweater.
I love these sweaters and will be doing more posts on how to style them so that they look super cute!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!!
