Home Decor Inspo…

9 DAYS UNTIL WE HAVE THE KEYS TO OUR HOUSE!*

*hopefully, as long as appraisal goes well.

I am so excited to finally live in my very own house!  Ahh!!  It’s exhilarating, exciting, exhausting, and expensive!

Exhilarating: Is this even real life???

Exciting: I will finally OWN where I live.  No more rent!  Woohoo!!

Exhausting: See here, here, and here.  So much goes in to buying a house.

Expensive:  Here’s the real meat behind this post.  How costly it is to buy a house and home decor to make it look nice and homey!

It will be a while before we can buy all the things I want for the house, so for now I’m going to find some budget friendly ways to cope while I’m saving money for what I will eventually buy in it’s place:

1. One of the first things I noticed about this house is that there’s no linen closet.  Our linen closet in the apartment is packed full with cleaning supplies, towels, laundry baskets, etc…  And we have nowhere to put any of this stuff in the new house.  So here’s some inspiration I gathered from Pinterest that I would love to incorporate into our home.

Ladders and shelves will be a great way to create space for items without taking up too much room in the bathroom or laundry room.

2. The other thing the house is missing is a coat closet.  It is also lacking a walkway around the back of the house to get to the mudroom, so I would love to have an area by the front door where people can hang their coats and put their shoes.

3. The last thing that the house is missing that I will need to wait to buy is a pantry.  I’ve actually never lived anywhere without a pantry so I have no idea where people put their food when they don’t have one!  I thought that I can put up some shelves in the laundry room because it is right next to the kitchen and the temporary pantry can be in there.  There is a little nook in the room that will be the perfect spot!

I just can’t wait until we have the keys to the house!  Praying it happens a week from this Friday!

With Love,

Quiet Girl
